Chennai – a culinary delight!
Buzzing streets, humble neighbourhoods and an amalgamation of modern and traditional lifestyles; Chennai, previously known as Madras, is a city that will captivate you with its diverse colours and flavours.
Located on the coast of Bay of Bengal, the capital city of the state of Tamil Nadu is one of the four major metropolitan cities in India. Although the city has in the recent years embraced a new cosmopolitan culture in the form of luxury hotels and swanky pubs and bars, it still is deep rooted in its cultures and religious traditions. You will get a taste of this as you visit the beautiful temples and museums that decorate the city.
An experience of a city, no matter how beautiful, is made memorable by its people and its food. Soon after sunrise, Chennai’s air fills with the enticing aromas of its local cuisine. Either you are exploring the streets of the suburban T-Nagar or walking down the narrow lanes and bazaars of George Town, you can savour the soft and fluffy idlies and the light and delicious pancakes called dosas, served with hot lentil soup, sambhaar and a variety of flavourful chutneys. And the people who run the kitchens are infectiously energetic who hold a lot of passion for their city and culture. After a hearty meal, you can take a stroll down the Marina or Elliot’s Beach.
Staying with the locals at their humble abode is an experience that is going to stay with you for the rest of your life. Such is the hospitality of the people of rural Rajasthan who believe in making the most out of whatever little they have. And at the end of the day, as the sun goes down in all its glory, the villages’ folklore will mesmerize you like you never could have imagined!

“The South Indian cuisine that includes rice, dosas and idlis, is light and extremely flavourful. While there are several eateries spread across the city, you should definitely have a meal at the famous South Indian food-chain, Saravanaa Bhawan at least once. And yes, do not forget to try out the filter coffee!”

“I spent an entire evening at the Samode village singing and dancing with the locals in their colourful traditional attire. I even tried the Chari dance with a pot on my head. Yes, a definite must try for everyone!”

Rural Rajasthan
Bright, traditional, rustic yet soulful – that is rural Rajasthan for you! Considering the chaotic and busy lives we live, visiting the interiors of the state will make you realize how meditatively beautiful life is beyond the hustle bustle of the cities.
While the desert state is considered a perfect embodiment of richness and royalty, it also offers a much humble sight of a Persian wheel irrigating the lush fields in its rural areas. A group of traditionally dressed women, carrying clay pots on their heads, walking down the dust roads and turban-clad men with majestic mustaches sweating it out in the fields, is a common sight that you will see as you drive through the state. And they do it so effortlessly without any trace of discomfort that, it will not just inspire you but will make you appreciate the simplistic beauty of life.
